Baptism

Baptism is the full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ's Body, the church. Baptism is the sacramental rite that admits the believer to the Holy Eucharist and to participate in the life of the congregation. God establishes an indissoluble bond with each person in baptism. God adopts us, making us members of the church and inheritors of the Kingdom of God. In baptism we are made sharers in the new life of the Holy Spirit and the forgiveness of sins. Baptism is the foundation for all future church participation and ministry.

Any infant or child may be baptized whose parents/guardians and sponsors (godparents) have been baptized provided these adults are willing to insure that the child will be brought up in the "knowledge and love of the Lord."

Baptisms are held throughout the year. Please call the parish office 203-729-8249 for more information or to schedule a baptism.
